Olivia’s favorite coffee shop in Austin is Mozart’s Coffee.

She loves the atmosphere and the coffee, but she also feels connected to the shop for two very distinct reasons. She actually shares her birthday with the man himself, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, and the shop opened in 1993, the same year Olivia was born! Pretty cool coincidence, I’d say.

Mozart’s is located on Lake Austin Blvd. and overlooks the waters of Lake Austin. The shop proudly names itself an “Austin Original” and was founded “with the dream of offering a place to enjoy quality coffee in a beautiful setting.”

And boy do they deliver on that promise! Not only do they have supremely enjoyable coffee, but they also have every reason to boast about their ingenuity. Mozart’s was the first coffee shop in Austin to roast in-house, first to offer free wifi, and the first to add a bottomless cup to their menu.

That’s why we love Mozart’s. The shop itself has an ambiance that is thoughtful, quiet, and uniquely interesting. It is the perfect place to write, work, or merely chill. We enjoy meeting clients there, as well as having our coffee dates there!

This shop is great for meeting people on the westside of town. Plus, it’s really close to downtown and Zilker. The shop also hosts plenty of events!

The wildlife - mostly ducks and other birds - are certainly not shy! Olivia loves looking at the ducks as they bob with the waves.

Trees cover the patio with plenty of cool shade, and the patio area is dog-friendly! And we sure love pups.

Overall, Mozart’s Coffee is in our top favorite places and anytime we’re in Austin, we make it a priority to come here. There is lots of space to work and relax. The coffee and the pastries are always top notch. And, there is history etched into the wooden tables: names of lovers and people, with initials and dates.

We love love. So naturally, we love seeing etched love notes and couples’ initials wherever we go. And just ask any Austinite you know… There’s plenty of love for Mozart’s.
